UN Forum on Information and Communication Technologies

Anyone between 18 and 32 years of age is eligible to apply…

300 college students and young entrepreneurs are expected to convene at the UN Headquarters in New York City from May 20-22, 2008 for Athgo International’s fourth annual Global Forum titled, “the Politics and Economics of Information and Communication Technologies.” The three-day interactive event will explore the significance of ICT universal proliferation to meeting the United Nations Millennium Development Goals and economic and political challenges associated with implementation. The participants, within groups and individually, will be tasked with designing commercially and politically viable solutions addressing some of the issues highlighted by experts, private and public sector executives, UN senior officials as well as on-ground entities and individuals. more…

Sports Communication Scholarship

If you are a student athlete interested in being nominated for this academic scholarship, please let me know. From Leslie Clark:

The NCAA has established a new scholarship for next year: the Jim McKay Scholarship Program.  Under this program, a $10,000 scholarship will be awarded annually to 1 male and 1 female student-athlete in recognition of their outstanding academic achievement and potential to make a major contribution in the sports communications industry.

Qualifications:
- demonstrate a unique aptitude and commitment to the communications field
- demonstrate the highest level of professional integrity, including the principles of truthfulness, accuracy, objectivity, impartiality, fairness, and public accountability, along with a passion for sports.

If you have a student-athlete whom you would like to nominate, please send their name to Leslie Clark, or Chris Kuznar.
