Fall Job Fair announcement for your students
Hello!
I hope your semester is going well. Could you please find 2-5 minutes in your classes this week or next to announce the job fair on campus? Here are the details:
IPFW Fall Job Fair
Thursday, September 22nd @ 10am-2pm
Walb Union Ballroom
80 Employers attending (the biggest job fair yet!!)
Students can view a list of employers attending 2 ways:
1. Login to JobZone at www.ipfw.edu/jobzone and click on the Job Fair button to view all the employers attending & the jobs they’re needing to fill
2. Stop by Career Services and pick up a list of attending employers (this document is attached)
Over half of the employers attending are specifically looking to speak with Arts & Sciences and General Studies students! And additional companies are open to all majors or related majors to your students!
As you may know, one of the best ways to increase retention of students is to help them find jobs on campus and internships or major-related work off campus. It’s amazing how students are able to implement the training you provide in classroom to tangible work outside of the classroom! Please help us increase student retention by announcing this job fair to your students.
We also offer prep sessions for the job fair on Tuesday & Wednesday (September 20-21) from 10am-4pm in our office, KT 109. Students can drop-in and get help with their resume and learn how to “work a job fair.”
Thank you for passing this information onto your students. Normally I would ask to visit your classroom and introduce myself as the Career Liaison for Arts & Sciences and General Studies majors, but with so many changes in our office it’s increased student appointments and presentations in classrooms (all good things) and thus reduced my time available to visit your class. I do hope to connect with you and your students during this academic year, so please send them over with any questions related to choosing a major, career goals & direction, and other career related needs.
